Privacy Policy

Noshlee ("Noshlee", "we", "us") is operated by Wake Tech LLC. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Noshlee app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as we can and to be plain about the rest.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, display name, and gluten-sensitivity setting. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash; we never store them in plain text.
- Things you save and create — barcode scans, saved foods and restaurants, meal logs (including any reaction notes you add), and the ratings and reviews you write.
- Approximate location — only when you ask Noshlee to find restaurants near you, and only to return nearby results. We do not track your location in the background.
- Device and usage data — basic technical information such as app version and error logs, used to keep the app running and fix problems.
How we use your information
- To provide the core features — gluten analysis, restaurant discovery, menu scanning, dining cards, logging, and reviews.
- To personalize results to your sensitivity setting and saved items.
- To keep your account secure and to operate, maintain, and improve the app.
- To respond to you when you contact support.
We do not sell your personal information, and Noshlee does not show third-party ads.
Service providers we share data with
To make Noshlee work, limited information is processed by trusted providers:
- Microsoft Azure — hosts the app and database where your account and data are stored.
- Google Places — when you search for restaurants, your query and approximate location are sent to Google to return nearby results.
- Open Food Facts — when you scan a barcode, the product barcode is used to look up ingredient data.
- Anthropic (Claude) — ingredient lists, menu text, and the comments you submit are sent to Anthropic's AI to analyze gluten content and to moderate reviews. This text is processed to generate a result and is not used to identify you.
These providers may process data outside your country. We share only what is needed for the feature you are using.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@noshlee.com, and we will process the request promptly. In-app account deletion is on the way.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and your information is stored on managed cloud infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit who can access it.
Children
Noshlee is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Noshlee evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
